When introducing any new Document Control systems or procedures, I find it is important to remember that new ways of doing things sometimes generate a feeling of uncertainty and resistance for some people. Not everyone is always on board with change.
It is important to recognise this and try to bring everyone along on the change journey.
My top 3 tips to bring everyone on the change journey are:
1. Involve your people in the designing and implementing of the change this will help them to champion new systems and procedures rather than resist them. 2. Clearly communicate the desired changes, reasons for them and advantages the change presents. 3. Provide ongoing training and support to enable the changes to be made successfully.
Implementing successful and lasting change requires strong leadership. It is key to recognise the importance of bringing your employees with you on the change journey to implement new systems and procedures effectively.
